Our History

In 1999 a small group of locals met to address the growing concerns of domestic violence and the absence of a safe haven to protect women and children in Newman. 

From this initial meeting, in 2001 the Shelter was incorporated and in 2004 it moved into a purpose built centre that has since operated 24/7, 365 days a year.
